We’ve all had a fondness for creating our own cities in dreams, imagination, LEGO, videogames, and more.  There’s a certain element of creativity in thinking up a city especially for kids.  We enjoy building and hands-on changing the bigger picture around us even if that picture is in our head.  Now, kids don’t have a notion of practical living or city planning principles (I mean, how practical is a flying city?).

As artists, we should drive beyond our preconceived notions of what a city is and isn’t and embrace the creativity in “dreaming up” a city again.

For example, look at the translation of a kid drawing into a clean rendition.
