In my writing class first semester, entitled Digital Romance, we read The Breakup 2.0 Ilana Gershon. It discussed how sending a message in different forms of media, or even face to face talking as a form of media, can be seen as a sign amongst love interests. This is something we all take for granted; a call is more intimate than facebook chat, even if the same thing is said. In the same way, making a painting vs a mural vs a poster vs a photograph of a mural. The time, materials and sense of permanence implied by certain media over another speaks volumes to their role in our society. While there may never be something made on illustrator that resonates like a Leonardo or a Picasso, these images have the ability to take over globally in the form of logos like design never has before. This youtube site is all about navigating the complicated connotations of media when dating.
