Because for out project we are making cabinets based on the interior design in Trump Tower, I wanted to research Trump’s interior designer. His designer, Angelo Donghia, was unsurprisingly very sought after in the 70s and 80s by some of the worlds richest individuals. He studied at Parsons School of Design, developed his own textile company, and eventually succeeded the owner of his first place of employment and renamed it Donghia Associates. He designed for Ralph Lauren, Halston, Donald Trump, Barbara Walters, Mary Tyler Moore, Liza Minelli, Neil Simon, Grace Mirabella, Diana Ross and many others. For Trump’s penthouse, he modeled it after King Louis XIV, who considered himself the sun god.
